“First of all i dont fear much of anything. That is hard to aske me because i dont fear much (smiling). I love to experience life and be open ,if we fear we dont get into it(social media).” This is how Nasr answered one of the questions if she fears that social media will become later like traditional media.
What we saw in this lecture a courageous woman, a secured wife, and a friend of advice. It was really hard to say that summer incident had any effect on her ,if any it taught her that life moves on and human being is born to evolve. This how Octavia Nasr’s lecture went at LAU ,she taught us as a journalists we should always witness and analyze.
“Dont let one event stop you …dont let something stop you to continue your work,” this is how she persued her lecture. Continuing with covering the gap between traditional media and social media she distinguished that traditional media is an institution to stay but what gethers us today and connect us with one another is “social media.”
She wanted us to make her think when asking our questions and in turn we did the same. She said that in social meida, she learned that people want you to be who you are to follow you, and that what made communication between Nasr and us students very easy. Her opinion about social mediea as a medium she described it as,”this medium have a heart beat and alive… there are great people if you only know how to find them .”
All of us here are wearing masks, that what we do as humans but one thing we were sure of that Octavia taught us and we in turn touched it is that ,”being in the driver seat ,you are in control ..i chose to be in the front seat i chose to be in control.” And this how in a matter of an hour and a half Nasr made a change in alot of lives, I to begin with.
She said that she wants to make the world a better place, with such a character and thought you already are…….
